LeddarTech releases its New Leddar™ Software Development Kit (SDK)

QUEBEC CITY, CANADA September 25, 2013 – LeddarTech, owner of the patented Leddar™ LED-based detection technology, announced today the launch of its Leddar™Sensor Software Development Kit(SDK).

A software application enabling Leddar™technology integration into any sensing application

The new Leddar™Software Development Kit (SDK) enables a growing community of developers and integrators to develop sensing applications by easily and rapidly integrating Leddar™ technology into their systems for unmatched flexibility.“This tool highlights how LeddarTech has set a goal of making technology accessible for a multitude of applications in various markets, such as industrial, security & surveillance, unmanned, transport and many more”, stated Pierre Olivier, Vice-President, Engineering & Manufacturing at LeddarTech.

Highlights of the Leddar™ Sensor Software Development Kit

Available with the purchase of a Leddar™ Sensor Evaluation Kit, the new software comes with the following features:

  • .NET and C libraries with application examples in C# and C
  • LabVIEW integration example
  • MATLAB integration example

The SDK provides an easy-to-use and effective application programming interface (API) in .Net and C, allowing developers to quickly create applications that control the sensor settings and acquire the measurements at the sensor’s full rate of operation (USB link). Developers can hence focus on enhancing their products with the rich data provided by their Leddar™Sensors. The SDK also provides data recording and playback functions that are ideal for offline analysis and simulation. Finally, LabVIEW and MATLAB developers also have access to live sensor data acquisition, data recording and playback. With the examples provided, they can immediately start experimenting, exploring and developing with Leddar™ technology in those environments, accelerating the process from idea to application.

About Leddar™, a unique detection and ranging technology

Leddar™ technology is a novel detection and ranging technology that performs time-of-flight measurement using pulses from visible or infrared LEDs. Combining multiple independent active elements, typically 16, into a single sensor, Leddar™ continuously provides rapid and accurate detection and ranging in the entire beam, without any moving parts. The large beam and diffused light pulses of the Leddar™Sensor, processed through innovative algorithms, allow for the detection of a wide range of objects under various environmental conditions. Serving multiple markets, this technology is optimized for 0 to 50 meter (165 ft) detection and ranging applications.

Tailored to the customer’s needs

Leddar™ technology is available as a reference design, as assembled components, as OEM modules and as finished sensor products. As an opto-electronic technology, it can easily be customized for final applications

About LeddarTech(www.leddartech.com)
