Cryptography Expert and Noted Blogger to Speak at Barr Group’s Embedded Security Boot Camp

GAITHERSBURG, Md., Sept. 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — Barr Group today announced that Matthew Green, Assistant Research Professor at Johns Hopkins University and a Barr Group associate, will speak at Barr Group’s upcoming “Embedded Security Boot Camp” training course. Dr. Green will discuss his “A Few Thoughts on Cryptographic Engineering” blog post regarding recent allegations that the NSA inserted exploitable weaknesses into unspecified cryptography standards.

“The security issues raised by Dr. Green and the alleged NSA-created security weaknesses should be of concern to all of us in the embedded systems industry,” said Andrew Girson, CEO of Barr Group. “Matthew Green’s talk at Barr Group’s Embedded Security Boot Camp training course will address the issues raised by these revelations within the context of securing embedded devices.”

The “Embedded Security Boot Camp” training course will be offered November 4-8 near BWI Airport (Hanover, MD) and will provide an intensive set of lectures and lab exercises designed to improve students’ abilities in creating secure embedded devices. Students will learn how to deal with the increasingly dangerous software and hardware security threats in embedded devices.
