Rorke Global Solutions™ Introduces Paladin™ Family of Servers

PHOENIX — July 30, 2013 — Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) building embedded solutions in support of computing, networking or storage servers now have a new set of building blocks in their toolbox. Rorke Global Solutions™, a business unit of the Avnet Embedded division of Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, a business region of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), today introduced the Paladin™ family of embedded servers. The highly customizable Paladin servers combine hardware with specifically optimized software to support a variety of applications across multiple market segments.

Each Paladin building block server contains a software stack specifically optimized for its related hardware. In addition to supporting computing, networking and storage servers, the building blocks are also configured to support purpose-built appliances, such as the recently announced Paladin digital signage media player. They can be further customized to support a wide variety of application requirements including information technology (IT) infrastructure, digital signage, security and machine-to-machine (M2M) products.

“The Paladin portfolio of servers offers our customers a family of proven, tested, and integrated hardware and software to deliver their overall solution,” said Chuck Kostalnick, senior vice president of Avnet Embedded. “The Paladin family of servers fills gaps in previously underserved markets and allows us to leverage the entire Avnet Embedded supplier portfolio to tailor perfect-fit solutions for our customers.”

The Paladin portfolio is a key part of Rorke Global Solutions’ custom solutions for OEMs, independent software vendors (ISVs), and channel partners. Based on Rorke Global Solutions’ broad experience, Paladin servers have already been configured to support multiple vertical market segments including retail, medical, communications, networking, cloud hosting and industrial.

Many of the server solutions will be Open Compute Project (OCP) compliant and available for evaluation in one of the OCP labs hosted by Rorke Global Solutions.
