Avnet Embedded to Distribute Onyx Healthcare USA’s Medical Computing Platforms in the Americas

PHOENIX— July 17, 2013  — Avnet Embedded, a division of Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, a business region of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), has entered into a distribution agreement for Onyx Healthcare USA’s medical grade embedded computing and information technology (IT) products, focusing on medical related applications. Onyx offers a variety of medical grade (EN/UL 60601-1, CE/FCC Class B certified), fanless panel PC products as building blocks for advanced medical device solutions.

Avnet medical device original equipment manufacturing (OEM) customers can use Onyx embedded solutions to design into a wide variety of medical devices such as surgical stations, PACS imaging solutions, and proprietary control units for medical systems.

In addition, Onyx products integrate Intel® embedded product lines to provide fanless design to enhance infection and noise control in surgical environments as well as to support extensive product lifecycles.
