Vector Software Announces Integration with Polarion Software Products

Providence, RI – 15 JUL 2013 – Vector Software, the leading provider of dynamic software testing solutions for embedded systems, today announced the integration of its VectorCAST suite of embedded software test tools with the requirements traceability and application lifecycle management tools from Polarion Software.

Polarion Software develops and markets web-based solutions for Requirements Management, Test Management, Quality Assurance (QA), and ALM that provide full traceability and transparency throughout the product lifecycle. Polarion solutions improve the efficiency of product development and help organizations identify and mitigate risks, improve quality, and achieve compliance and quality standards.

Using the VectorCAST Requirements Gateway (VectorCAST/RGW), engineers can import software requirements and associate them with VectorCAST test cases, including pass/fail results. This mapping can then be pushed back to the requirements management tool for complete traceability. Through a simple and intuitive interface, developers can quickly and easily link requirements to VectorCAST test cases

The VectorCAST / Polarion integration permits data flow between the Polarion ALM tools and the VectorCAST testing tools. The integration enables organizations to effectively manage their requirement engineering process and to ensure compliance with industry standards such as FDA and IEC 62304 for Medical Devices, DO-178B/C for Avionics, ISO 26262 for Automotive, EN-50128 for Railway transportation and IEC 61508 for Industrial automation.

“The VectorCAST integration with Polarion not only provides VectorCAST users with solid requirements from which to build test cases, it also provides Polarion users the ability to include VectorCAST test status into their overall test management process,” said John Paliotta, Vector Software Chief Technology Officer.

“We are enthusiastic about the integration and partnership with such a high caliber test automation company such as Vector Software.  The VectorCast/RGW integration with Polarion ALM leverages two market leading solutions to provide a complete integrated testing solution,” commented Regg Struyk, Polarion Product Manager.
