Versatile Low-noise Accelerometer from Measurement Specialties Calculates Static and Dynamic Signals

Hampton, Va. June 2013 – Measurement Specialties (NASDAQ: MEAS), a leading global manufacturer in sensor-based measuring of pressure/force, position, vibration, temperature, humidity and fluid properties, has released the 4610A, a versatile sensor with integral temperature compensation for both static and dynamic measurements.

The 4610A is a rugged, ultra low-noise DC accelerometer that measures shock and vibration levels up to 2,000 g’s via an integrated gas damped MEMS element with mechanical overload stops.  It is particularly useful for detecting low frequency, low amplitude vibration in a variety of applications, including structural monitoring, road vehicle testing, transportation and machine control.

Operating over a wide temperature range of -55°C to +125°C, the new 4610A is offered in ranges from ±2 g to ±100 g with a flat frequency response to 1,500 Hz. The sensor incorporates an ultra low-noise amplification circuit for a ±2 Vdc full-scale output with a dynamic range of 97 dB.

The accelerometer features a signal-conditioned, DC-coupled output and can be configured in single-ended mode or in differential mode for higher performance applications, where good common mode rejection is desirable. Excitation voltage ranges from 8 Vdc to 30 Vdc, with an excitation current of less than 12 mA.

Housed in an anodized aluminum package, the 4610A is suitable for use in rugged environments.  The unit is epoxy sealed to IP62 specifications and the flexible cable assembly is constructed of a TPE-jacketed cable with an integral braided shield and PFA-insulated leads. A triaxial configuration is offered in the model 4630A package.

Quickly and accurately identify inter-domain leakage issues in IC designs

Sponsored by Siemens Digital Industries Software

Power domain leakage is a major IC reliability issue, often missed by traditional tools. This white paper describes challenges of identifying leakage, types of false results, and presents Siemens EDA’s Insight Analyzer. The tool proactively finds true leakage paths, filters out false positives, and helps circuit designers quickly fix risks—enabling more robust, reliable chip designs. With detailed, context-aware analysis, designers save time and improve silicon quality.
