Ambedded Technology launch ARM-Based open frame Human Machine Interface

Apr. 25, 2013 — In the past, most embedded applications were using industrial computers (IPC) or single board computers (SBC) as the hardware platform. This is mainly due to the easy to get resource from operating systems and software engineers. But, more and more solutions from ARM based platform and development environment has broken the x86 advantage.

However, with the escalation of hardware technology, ARM-based SoC can easily adopt the original IPC SBC applications. Thanks to the new IC integrating technologies, the major hardware components of x86 platform are shrimped to a single chip ARM based SoC. This provides the much higher cost performance ratio of embedded system.  Embedded systems are majorly used in industrial applications in the past decades. With the low cost advantage and performance improvement, the ARM based platform now gradually turned to life and general commercial use. More and more diversified applications are applied to industrial, medical, gaming, intelligent traffic system, machine to machine (M2M), Internet of Things (IoT) and in vehicle applications.

Ambedded Technology currently launches a series of open frame Human Machine Interface (HMI), Jupiter. It integrated an ARM11 based single board computer with different sizes of LCD panels. It provides a very low cost hardware with free, open source and ready to use operation system. Ambedded Technology has successfully developed full SDK to support Linux, Android and Windows CE for the Jupiter series. These enables user development their applications without spending time over operating system and is as easy as the environment of x86 hardware. The panel sizes ofJupiter series include 3.5”4”7”8” and 10.1”Jupiter series support most popular embedded OS Linux, Android and Windows CE. Ambedded Technology also provides front panel and enclosure customization service to make Jupiter the optimum solution for embedded applications.

Want early design analysis without simulation?

Sponsored by Siemens Digital Industries Software

Traditional verification methods are failing today's complex IC designs, which require a proactive, early-stage analysis approach. A shift-left methodology addresses IP block integration challenges and the limitations of traditional simulation and ERC tools. Insight Analyzer detects hard-to-find leakage issues across power domains, enabling early analysis without full simulation. Identify inefficiencies earlier to reduce rework, improve reliability, and enhance power performance.
