OpenMP Consortium Announces 2013 IWOMP Workshop, Sept 15-17 in Canberra, Australia

Champaign, Illinois – April 2, 2013 – The OpenMP Consortium announces the ninth International Workshop on OpenMP (IWOMP), which is the premier forum present and discuss issues, trends, recent research ideas and results related to parallel programming with OpenMP. The international workshop affords an opportunity for OpenMP users as well as developers to come together for discussions and sharing new ideas and information on this topic.

IWOMP 2013 will be a three-day event. It will be held from Sept 15 to 17, 2013 in Canberra, Australia, hosted by the Australian National University. The deadline for paper submission is April 26, 2013. The website is http://www.iwomp.org

Submissions of unpublished technical papers detailing innovative, original research and development related to OpenMP are solicited.

All topics related to OpenMP are of interest, including OpenMP applications in any domain (e.g., scientific computation, video games, computer graphics, multimedia, information retrieval, optimization, text processing, data mining, finance, signal and image processing and numerical solvers), OpenMP performance analysis and modeling, OpenMP performance and correctness tools and proposed OpenMP extensions.

Advances in technologies, such as multi-core processors and accelerators (e.g., GPGPU, FPGA, DSP), Multiprocessor Systems on a Chip (MPSoCs), and recent developments in OpenMP itself present new opportunities and challenges for software and hardware developers. IWOMP 2013 particularly solicits submissions in these areas.

About OpenMP

The OpenMP Application Program Interface (API) is a multi-platform shared-memory parallel programming model for the C, C++ and Fortran programming languages. Jointly defined by a group of major computer hardware and software vendors and the user community, OpenMP is a portable, scalable model that gives shared-memory parallel programmers a simple and flexible interface for developing parallel applications for platforms ranging from multicore systems and SMPs, to embedded systems.

Incorporated in 1997, The OpenMP ARB is the non-profit corporation that oversees the OpenMP specification and produces and approves new versions of the specification. Further information can be found at http://www.openmp.org/

Want early design analysis without simulation?

Sponsored by Siemens Digital Industries Software

Traditional verification methods are failing today's complex IC designs, which require a proactive, early-stage analysis approach. A shift-left methodology addresses IP block integration challenges and the limitations of traditional simulation and ERC tools. Insight Analyzer detects hard-to-find leakage issues across power domains, enabling early analysis without full simulation. Identify inefficiencies earlier to reduce rework, improve reliability, and enhance power performance.
