Xalyo Systems Announces XS-AMC5, a Highly Integrated Multi-Rate Multi-Protocol PHY AMC

Geneva, Switzerland – March 14, 2013 – Xalyo Systems today announces XS-AMC5, a highly integrated Multi-Rate Multi-Protocol PHY Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC) supporting efficient and flexible Optical Transport Network (ITU-T G.709 OTN) switching, mapping and multiplexing at ODU0/ODUflex granularity.

“XS-AMC5 is the industry’s first Advanced Mezzanine Card providing OTN connectivity” said Andre Wiesel, founder and president of Xalyo Systems. “Its high level of integration will provide our customers with a compact, power savvy and cost effective OTN solution.”

XS-AMC5 provides one high-speed SFP+ network interface supporting OTU2 or OC-192/STM-64 and three lower-speed SFP client interfaces supporting OTU1, OC-3/12/48, STM-1/4/16, Fiber Channel, 100/1000 Ethernet, POS, and Constant Bit Rate clients.

In addition to the front panel ports, XS-AMC5 provides a 10G XAUI backplane interface preserving channelization through the use of VLAN tags.

The AMC is controlled from an external processor over a PCI Express interface. Comprehensive software is provided to control and monitor the card.

Compliant with PICMG Advanced Mezzanine Card AMC.0, AMC.1, and AMC.2, XS-AMC5 can be used on AdvancedTCA™, MicroTCA, and proprietary platforms.

XS-AMC5’s general availability is Q3 2013 and will sample to selected customers in Q2 2013.
