Common Embedded ARM Cortex™ A9 i.MX 6 Platform

Laguna Hills, California — January 15, 2013 — Cadia Networks, an innovative global supplier of application specific board level products and systems for a wide range of embedded computing applications, today announced the release of two new products using a common embedded ARM Cortex™ A9 i.MX 6 platform: OPS-5332A and CNS-5332B. Both products are targeted for digital signage applications and provide a complete, seamless embedded platform for customers with a range of performance and features, while allowing for the re-use of customer’s application code in either a standalone system or embedded OPS module without any modifications or recompiling.

While Intel’s Open Pluggable Specification (OPS) is becoming a defacto standard for digital signage, there are a wide range of requirements, all are faced with tremendous cost reduction pressures. As the newest and third member of this family of products, OPS-5332A addresses these needs with a rich feature set, striking a great balance at the lower end of the OPS Module product family spectrum.

The OPS-5332A is a fanless, open pluggable module that is only 200mm × 119mm × 30mm (W×D×H) in size. This embedded computing platform is ultra compact and offers a high degree of connectivity and expansion options including six USB ports, two HDMI, and one VGA port supporting dual independent displays, making it an ideal option for digital signage applications.

Onboard USB-WiFi, 3G module and Gigabit Ethernet are also available for high speed networking. All of this connectivity is packed into a space-saving, power-efficient fanless OPS module, suitable for wide range of digital signage application environments.

Key Features: OPS-5532A Digital Signage Module

  • Low Power Freescale Cortex™-A9 i.MX 6 Series CPU
  • 3D graphics & 1080p video codec engine and playback
  • Onboard 1GB/2GB DDR3 800MHz RAM
  • 4GB/8GB iNAND flash, 1x SATA2.0
  • HDMI + LVDS, independent multi-display, Power Mgnt option
  • Gigabit Ethernet, onboard USB-WiFi, 3G module supported
  • Native support for Android OS
  • Full OPS standard compliant

The CNS-5332B system is the first ARM based system in Cadia Networks’ fanless embedded computing system portfolio. Using the same common embedded platform as the OPS-5532A, its dimensions are just 208mm x 141.6mm x 41.7mm. This compact system offers a high degree of connectivity and flexible expansion options. Configurable with up to five serial ports, six USB ports, one USB (OTG), two HDMI, and one VGA port supporting dual independent displays, the CNS-5332B is an ideal system for digital signage. Dual CANbus, onboard USB-WiFi, a 3G module, and Gigabit Ethernet are also available to fulfill high speed networking needs. These combined features make the CNS-5332B system ideal for a wide range of applications including automotive, education, advertising, digital signage, LCD large screen control, transportation, point of sale, banking, interactive client, and other connected applications.
