Newark element14’s “Dev Kit HQ” advances design with new easy-to-use selector

CHICAGO—Nov. 15, 2012 – Committed to speeding the adoption of new technology for engineers, Newark element14, a business of Premier Farnell (LSE:pfl) and the leading distributor of electronic components and engineering solutions in the Americas, today expanded its Dev Kit HQ with a ‘quick find’ online product selector designed to help engineers source the latest products available by manufacturer and technology application.

Within Newark element14’s Dev Kit HQ, engineers have a wide, in-stock selection of the most requested and latest technologies from leading suppliers such as ADIARM, Atmel, Freescale, Linear Technologies, MicrochipNXPSTMicroelectronics and Texas Instruments. As a result of Newark element14’s collaboration with many of these top brands, new releases are continuously added such as the STM32F4 Discovery Board from STMicroelectronics and the NXP LPC4357-EVB Board, an element14 exclusive.

The Dev Kit HQ offers direct access to the knode on the element14 engineering Community, which connects engineers to complete design solutions including a network of over 130,000 peers and experts. A powerful online technical library and search engine, the knode delivers rich technical data for development kits, development tools, operating systems, test equipment, training and design service providers. It also provides a number of technical support options via Community collaboration and direct access to Newark element14’ s team of engineers by email, the phone or live chat 24 hours a day, M-F. In addition, engineers can participate in RoadTests for a first-look at the latest technology or benefit from peer reviews available on the Community.

“Whether evaluating a new electronic device or prototyping a complex custom system, adopting the right technology just got easier at Newark element14,” said Jeff Uden, vice president, product management, Newark element14. “We are continually working with suppliers across the design ecosystem to offer complete solutions to help engineers drive innovation in the most cost-effective ways possible. This includes offering a great selection of the most in-demand development kits for immediate shipping.”
