Altium Subscription Model a Global Success

electronica, Munich – 13 November 2012 – Altium <http://www.live.altium.com/> , developer of next-generation electronics design software and services, achieves high customer satisfaction for their AltiumLive <http://www.live.altium.com/>  and Altium Designer <http://products.live.altium.com/>  subscription model. After the introduction of this new model in March 2011, which was coupled with the release of Altium Designer 10, Altium has delivered 22 updates to Altium Designer and through AltiumLive have released 100,000+ design ready components which include live supply chain data to their Subscribed users.

The company conducted a global customer survey to measure general customer satisfaction. This was done in collaboration with the University of Amberg/Weiden (Germany) and provided Altium with valuable insights into how customers rate the new features and updates introduced to Altium Designer via AltiumLive during the last 18 months.

AltiumLive gives users access to the latest updates and content for their Altium Designer license, in-depth technical information and community forums. Since its introduction in March 2011, more than 45,000 (and counting) AltiumLive accounts have been activated. The registered users describe AltiumLive as an attractive platform (58%), providing professional, comprehensible and innovative information and content.

The most frequently used resources in AltiumLive include product documentation (47%), training videos (37%) and forums (36%). Forum users are particularly satisfied, with the majority rating the sections as good or very good.

Users are also highly satisfied with the direct links to Altium, including the interaction with Altium’s technical support teams. A global team of experienced application engineers is available and located in all major regions. Technical support is now available as an exclusive benefit for Altium Subscription customers. “The quality and availability of Altium’s technical support is important to our organization, and just one of the many reasons we see value in staying connected through Altium Subscription,” praises Michael Lamber of MLC-Engineering the Altium support team.
