Poly-Platform 2.0 now available for Texas Instruments’ TMS320C6678

BURLINGAME, CA (October 25, 2012) — PolyCore Software, Inc. (PSI), leader in multicore software development solutions, today announced that Version 2.0 of its Poly-Platform&#153 multicore software platform, is available for Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) TMS320C6678 digital signal processor (DSP), based on the KeyStone multicore architecture. Poly-Platform is a bundle of productivity tools and runtime communications engine that simplifies the process of migrating to and developing applications for multicore platforms. With version 2.0, users have enhanced memory organization and increased functionality to take full advantage of the performance capabilities of TI’s multicore DSPs.

Applications can be streamlined for TI’s high-performance TMS320C66x DSP generation of multicore processors and improved scalability allows for free movement of application source code and rapid transition to next generation architectures. Poly-Platform Version 2.0 merges seamlessly with TI’s Code Composer Studio&#153 integrated development environment and DSP/BIOS&#153 kernel, providing immediate access to the Multicore Associations standard Multicore Communications API (MCAPI), for C66x developers as well as rapid setup of the EDMA3, and SRIO hardware accelerators.

Poly-Mapper&#153, a graphical configuration tool that maps the application functions to multicore architectures, now improves application functionality and configurability by assisting the developer with memory organization and structure. Code is generated from a model, which is graphically configured by the user. Therefore, an otherwise cumbersome programming task becomes a configuration effort with the use of Poly-Platform’s user friendly GUI, as well as Poly-Templates&#153, a tool that jumpstarts the design process.

“We are pleased to offer continued support for TI’s KeyStone multicore architecture, and we are confident that this collaboration offers a great benefit to users,” said Sven Brehmer, president and CEO, PolyCore Software. “Poly-Platform 2.0, with its enhanced memory management tools and added functionality, significantly improves time to market, system performance and development cost.”

“With the added features of PolyCore Software’s Poly-Platform, we are able to provide customers with a platform to quickly develop their applications on our KeyStone architecture,” said Ramesh Kumar, business manager, multicore processors, TI. “Poly-Platform/ MCAPI enables developers looking to leverage the power of TI’s multicore processors, to achieve faster time to market and gain competitive advantage.”
