Tesla Selects Cypress’s TrueTouch® Solution to Implement World’s First Fully-Integrated Touchscreen Infotainment System in Model S

SAN JOSE, Calif., October 18, 2012 – Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NASDAQ: CY) today announced that Tesla Motors (NASDAQ: TSLA) has selected its TrueTouch® automotive touchscreen solution for the infotainment system in Model S, the world’s first premium electric sedan. The 17-inch touchscreen in Model S is the largest in a production vehicle to date, and is the first to integrate all functional controls into a touchscreen. To Model S, the TrueTouch solution brings design flexibility and a multi-touch experience that users expect even in challenging conditions.

The touchscreen in Model S seamlessly integrates multimedia apps and content, sound system, communication and HVAC controls, navigation, and vehicle data into one central location.
