Saelig Debuts New Low-cost High Power USB Inspection Microscope/Magnifier

Pittsford, NY, USA: Saelig Company, Inc. announces the MV600UM2 USB Inspection Microscope – an easy-to-use color digital microscope with a USB interface and magnification up to 600X. It breaks the mold of traditional microscopes by providing an integrated 2.0 MP digital/video camera and adding simple-to-use PC functions for measurement and image transfer. It is compact and portable, and fits a wide range of uses for industry, school and home. Its principal purpose is for high magnification examination of surfaces such as metal finishes, surface treatments, coins, and other collectibles.

In most cases, the MV600UM2 must be used with the stand provided in order to be useful because of image shake when handheld. 600X magnification (based on a 17″ display) also means that the viewing area and the depth of field are both very small, but this makes it ideal for examining the finest details of products and items, for sharing the resulting high quality images with others, or for posting fine detail product images on webpages.

The MV600UM2 captures high quality magnified images and video for display on a PC using a simple USB 2.0 PC connection. The USB-powered MV600UM2 contains a built-in white LED illumination ring for viewing circuit boards, tiny components and markings, examining traces and solder joints on printed circuit boards, or for detailed product examination and record-taking, inspection, and quality control purposes.

Simple plug and play operation with the included software allows objects to be magnified using the MV600UM2’s full-color 2 megapixel sensor on any Windows PC. Moving images can be displayed at 30fps in VGA resolution via the USB 2.0 interface too. The included software allows snapshots, video recording, taking time-lapsed images, and calibrated measurements.

The MV600UM2 package includes: MV600UM2 microscope, a stand, two transparent covers, a calibration ruler, Miview Software (Windows XP, Vista, 7) with measuring and calibration functions, and it is available now from stock at $99.95 from Saelig Company.
