Parasoft Opens API to Industry’s First Development Testing Platform

Monrovia, CA – August 30, 2012 – Parasoft, industry leader in Development Testing, announced today that the API to the industry’s first Development Testing platform is now available publically.  Organizations can use this API to more rapidly integrate any SDLC tools to further extend the process visibility and control provided by the Parasoft Development Testing platform.

Parasoft’s Development Testing platform is the industry’s most comprehensive, featuring a policy-driven process that integrates the following practices:

  • Static analysis (in-line, pattern-based, flow-based, metrics)
  • Unit testing (test generation, execution, optimization)
  • Coverage analysis (from the unit level to application level)
  • Peer code review (preparation, notification, tracking)
  • Runtime error detection (resource & memory leaks, race conditions, exceptions, etc.)
  • Traceability (requirements, code, defects, code reviews, tests, etc.)

This broad array of capabilities is now easily extended by integrating any internal, open source, or COTS via the API.

“The opportunity to integrate any SDLC tool into this platform gives organizations a single point of control for all activities associated with developing secure, reliable, and compliant code,” explained Wayne Ariola, VP of Strategy for Parasoft. “This not only enables a much better understanding of what is being developed and how it is being developed—it also assists organizations to substantially broaden the scope of development policies being monitored to ensure that software is being developed in line with management’s expectations.”

About the Parasoft Development Testing Platform

Building upon their market leadership in Development Testing and Automated Defect Prevention since the early 1990s, Parasoft took it to the next level by releasing the industry’s first Development Testing platform in 2003. This platform not only provided a centralized window into Parasoft’s existing static analysis, unit testing, code coverage analysis, and memory error detection capabilities; it also provided an integrated view of the SDLC by consolidating and correlating it with data about  build management, source control management, defects, and requirements. This offering was the first solution on the marketplace to deliver real-time process visibility.

Traditional verification methods are failing today's complex IC designs, which require a proactive, early-stage analysis approach. A shift-left methodology addresses IP block integration challenges and the limitations of traditional simulation and ERC tools. Insight Analyzer detects hard-to-find leakage issues across power domains, enabling early analysis without full simulation. Identify inefficiencies earlier to reduce rework, improve reliability, and enhance power performance.
