3M and Rainbow Technology Systems Collaboration introduces New Photo Tool Coating

Rainbow Technology Systems (RTS) and 3M’s Protective Materials business have joined efforts to make liquid coating protection for photo-tools available for use withthe RTS Panda coating machine.

After several years of development, 3M’s proprietary coating solution is suitable for application by the RTS Panda coater and is ideal for use on photo-tools used in PCB manufacturing.

The Panda coater applies four microns of a liquid coating, which cures under ultra violet (UV) light.

The 3M coating is optically clear, and provides a non-stick and abrasion resistant surface that protects the surface of the photo-tool.

The RTS Panda coater incorporates patent applied for technology reducing wastage and floor space and can accept sheets of different dimensions without adjustment.

The coating solution (PPC-007) and the Panda unit will be available through RTS in Europe and the UK. Sales and distribution arrangements in Japan and other geographic markets are under discussion between RTS and 3M’s Protective Materials business.

Want early design analysis without simulation?

Sponsored by Siemens Digital Industries Software

Traditional verification methods are failing today's complex IC designs, which require a proactive, early-stage analysis approach. A shift-left methodology addresses IP block integration challenges and the limitations of traditional simulation and ERC tools. Insight Analyzer detects hard-to-find leakage issues across power domains, enabling early analysis without full simulation. Identify inefficiencies earlier to reduce rework, improve reliability, and enhance power performance.
