Mouser adds to its Industrial Application Center with the Launch of the Building Automation Site

June 7, 2012 – Mouser Electronics, Inc., regarded as a top design engineering resource and global distributor for semiconductors and electronic components, has unveiled its new Industrial application training site on Mouser.com. This new site has been developed to assist design engineers in quickly identifying the latest advancements and key trends in building automation technology, as well as supporting product information.

Organized into four sectors: Applications, Featured Products, Articles, and Resources, Mouser’s Industrial application training site is a comprehensive resource, covering several areas of building automation, including two-stage Air Handling Unit (AHU) controllers, intelligent occupancy sensors, programmable logic controllers, plus Wi-Fi thermostats. The application section’s system block diagram navigation enables engineers to quickly identify specific product sets adhering to their design requirements, based on defined parameters and engineering standards.

Kevin Hess, Mouser’s Vice President of Technical Marketing, shared the vision behind the site’s creation. “For the engineer, time is one valuable component that is always in short supply. We wanted to create a training site that places the latest innovations and advancements in building automation and industrial controls at the design engineer’s fingertips. Our Industrial site is extremely intuitive, offering useful application information and component selection criteria with a single click.”

The Industrial training site complements Mouser’s broad line card, which includes Texas Instruments, International Rectifier, Maxim, Vishay, Panasonic and Bourns, plus many other leading component manufacturers of today’s industrial technologies.

To categorize information by application or engineered solution, rather than component, the design engineer can quickly reference the Industrial Resource Guide. This guide contains application notes, tutorials and white papers, videos, plus other helpful design sources to help fast-track the overall design process. Arranged neatly into defined categories, this information can be filtered by manufacturer or topic.

This site will be continuously developed and updated to ensure ongoing relevancy as the building automation sector continues to advance, yielding new breakthroughs in temperature control, intelligent lighting, smart metering, remote monitoring, and more.
