Avnet Electronics Marketing and Digilent, Inc. Introduce the ZedBoard™, a Community-Based Development Kit for the Zynq™-7000 Extensible Processing Platform

PHOENIX— June 4, 2012 — Avnet Electronics Marketing, an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE:AVT), and Digilent, Inc. today announced that order entry is now available for the ZedBoard™, a community oriented development kit for the Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLX) Zynq™-7000 Extensible Processing Platform (EPP). ZedBoard is ideal for designers and students who are interested in exploring and prototyping their application ideas for the new Zynq-7000 EPP architecture. The commercial version of the ZedBoard is available from Avnet for $395; the academic version is available from Digilent for $299. For more information visit www.ZedBoard.org.

 Features of the ZedBoard include:

  • Xilinx Zynq™ XC7Z020 EPP device
  • Memory (512 MB DDR3, 256 MB QSPI Flash, 4 GB SD Card)
  • On-board USB-JTAG programming
  • 10M/100M/1G Ethernet
  • USB OTG 2.0 and USB-UART
  • PS & PL I/O expansion (FMC, Pmod™, XADC)
  • Multiple display output capability (1080p HDMI, 8-bit VGA, 128×32 OLED)
  • I2S Audio Codec

The ZedBoard kit includes the ZedBoard, power supply, USB cable, and pre-configured SD card containing a bootable Linux reference design. ZedBoard.org will host additional user created reference designs and projects, enabling the community of Zynq-7000 EPP designers to collaborate and share design ideas.

All of the interfaces have been thoroughly tested and debugged, so engineers and students can start working with their specific designs immediately.”
