Internet-based Attacks Boost Interest in Icon Labs Embedded Software

San Jose, CA – DesignWest – ESC – March 22, 2012  — Icon Labs  (http://www.iconlabs.com) announced they will be showing their portfolio of portable embedded software for device protection, secure access and network management at the Embedded Systems Conference Show in San Jose, CA.

“In the last six months, we have seen increased interest in our security solutions as a result of an exploding awareness of security threats and Internet-based attacks against net-connected devices,” says Alan Grau, CEO of Icon Labs. “We are partnering with device makers world-wide to add firewall protection to a broad range of embedded devices.”

Floodgate is the industry’s first embedded firewall; protecting embedded devices from Internet-based attacks. The growing number of devices connected to the Internet is providing an endless supply of targets that hackers exploit.  Icon Labs’ software protects devices with Floodgate’s advanced static filtering, stateful packet inspection and threshold-based filtering, blocking attacks before a connection is established.

At the ESC Show, Icon Labs will demonstrate Floodgate and announce partnerships with leading industry embedded hardware and software manufacturers.

Other Icon network security products include Iconfidant SSH and SSL, standards-based security solutions for the VxWorks embedded real-time operating system. Iconfidant provides secure data access to net-connected devices such as telecommunication and networking equipment.  Service providers worldwide depend on Iconfidant’s encryption and authentication for network protection.

Also popular is our Envoy SNMP,  a toolkit for companies developing embedded SNMP agents using Linux, Solaris, and BSD operating systems. SNMP v1/v2c/v3 and SNMP AgentX are supported.
