Easy-to-Program Smart Touch- LCDs Introduced by Saelig

Pittsford, NY: Saelig Company Inc. has introduced ezLCDcompact Smart Touch LCD modules, aimed at speeding time-to-market for products requiring an interactive color graphics display. The all-in-one modular design combines a color LCD, touch screen, control electronics, memory and I/O, with an easy to use USB-programmable firmware environment for quickly creating a graphic client or a standalone intelligent display. The 2.6″ (400 x 240 pixel) ezLCD-301-QK’sUSB 2.0 and RS232/TTL interfaces allow access to a powerful built-in microcontroller and 4Mbytes of flash memory, which can store fonts, bitmaps, and macros. Operating on +3.3V, ezLCD-301-QK consumes less than 100mA, and operates over a 0 to 60°C temperature range.

Simple ASCII-command-driven software is provided (Windows 7, XP, Linux, and OSX Operating System compatible) which allows users to quickly customize macros, graphical objects, fonts, images, and interfaces, dramatically shortening design cycles. A serial terminal program allows for rapid development under Windows, Linux, and OSX operating systems. Ready-made software widgets include Analog Meter, Buttons, CheckBox, Dial, Radio Button, Slider, and many others. Macros and GUI Widgets can create a working user interface prototype within hours. ezLCD Smart Touch LCD modules work with any microcontroller, including the popular Arduino boards.

ezLCD-301-QK is a rapid, cost-effective way to implement a touch screen color LCD into virtually any application. With the EarthSEMPL macro language and built in I/O,ezLCD modules can replace panel meters, simple HMI, operator panels and temperature controllers. ezLCD-301-QK provides a comprehensive, easy to use starting platform for designing compact graphics into an existing or new product application. A custom USB cable to interface with the module’s 16-pin connector is also supplied. ezLCD modules make a visually appealing alternative to character modules, vacuum florescent displays, STN passive matrix displays, or more complex graphic LCD products.

Retail price for the ezLCD-301-QK is $98.50, and it is available now. For detailed specifications, free technical assistance, or additional information, please contact Saelig 1-888-7SAELIG, via email: info@saelig.com, or visit www.saelig.com.
