TenAsys® Announces Release of Distributed RTOS

Nuremberg, Germany – February 28, 2012 – TenAsys Corporation (www.tenasys.com), a leading provider of real-time and embedded virtualization software, announces at the Embedded World show that production shipments of INtime® Distributed RTOS will begin in March. The new Distributed RTOS is the latest in the company’s INtime family of real-time operating systems. INtime Distributed RTOS enables programmers to write easily-scalable applications that run without modification on different system configurations spanning from single-core or multi-core processor systems to multi-platform systems with multi-core processors.

“INtime Distributed RTOS widens the range of solutions that OEMs can build from the same code base,” said Kim Hartman, Vice President of Marketing and Sales.  “Applications will range from complex multi-function multi-platform systems to cost-reduced systems that leverage the performance of multicore technologies, or highly integrated single-core systems with Intel® ATOM™ processors.

The scalability of applications using INtime Distributed RTOS is made possible with the introduction of global objects and an underlying network called GOBSnet. This inter-process communications technology enables real-time embedded applications to leverage the performance potential of the 2nd Generation Intel® CoreTM processor family. Now, modules of performance-critical application code can be executed on their own processor cores.

“Software solutions such as TenAsys’ INtime family of real-time operating systems are designed to work with the whole range of our embedded processors,” said Jim Robinson, general manager for Intel’s Intelligent System’s Group.  “Software solutions such as TenAsys’ software make it easier for customers to support Intel’s product roadmap, from our intelligent atom processors to our high performance Core platforms, without having to re-write software for different applications.”

The new INtime Distributed RTOS is being demonstrated at Embedded World in Nuremberg on February 28-March 1, 2012 in the TenAsys booth, Hall 5, Booth 5-418.
