Evatronix Strengthens its Multimedia IP Portfolio with a Complete Series of MIPI® SLIMbus® Products

Bielsko-Biala/Poland, February 9th, 2012 – The silicon intellectual property (IP) provider, Evatronix SA introduced today the complete series of Mobile Industry Processor Interface (MIPI) Alliance SLIMbus IP cores that implement next-gen serial interface for low power multimedia applications, especially mobile. The design is already proven to seamlessly operate as a key component within the I2S to SLIMbus bridge from LnK.

The Serial Low-power Inter-chip Media Bus (SLIMbus) is a standard interface between baseband and/or application processors and peripheral components in mobile devices. Its greatest advantage over other existing communication standards lies in the flexible adoption of interface frequency to current application requirements, which translates into very efficient power management, a highly beneficial feature for mobile devices.

“The rapid growth of functionality and versatility in mobile devices calls for a universal platform of communication within the application, and MIPI SLIMbus hits the bulls eye here,” said Marcin Zys, MIPI Product Line Manager at Evatronix. “We are introducing the MIPI SLIMbus IP as a natural evolution of our multimedia interface solutions we’ve been providing for more than 7 years now.”

ABOUT EVATRONIX MIPI IP PORTFOLIO

Device Controller – implements the Interface Device Class and the Generic Device Class with up to 64 programmable data ports. Full compliance with the MIPI SLIMbus specification enables user to enjoy all benefits of the SLIMbus standard, like dynamic bus reconfiguration, multiple simultaneous independent data transmissions and power consumption optimization.

Framer Controller – implements the Interface and Framer Device Classes with a programmable set of supported clock frequencies. The component fully supports advanced MIPI SLIMbus features, like dynamic bus reconfiguration and framer handover. Furthermore, it implements all Core, Interface and Framer Information Elements and supports automatic transmission of reply and report messages.

Manager Controller – implements the Interface Device and Manager Device Classes. Thanks to an OCP interface and a rich set of wrappers, the Manager Controller can be easily interfaced to every system bus standard, like AMBA AHB, PLB, OPB, Wishbone and others. It supports most advanced MIPI SLIMbus features, which include dynamic bus reconfiguration and power consumption optimization.

Manager DPort Controller – extends the Manager Controller with DMA interface and ability to transfer and process multiple simultaneous data streams independently.
