Swissbit: New 8GB DDR3 modules for high end industrial PCs and servers

Bronschhofen, Switzerland – January 18, 2012 – Swissbit extends its INDUSTRIAL family of high performance / high reliability SDRAM memory products by three new 8GB density modules: the 8GB DDR3 SODIMM, the 8GB DDR3 SO-UDIMM with ECC and the 8 GB Registered DIMM. These modules offer highest DDR3 memory capacity on the smallest possible system area and enable applications with high need of main memory running on latest multi-Core CPUs.

The three module types are using the latest Samsung 4Gb DDR3 components, offering the smallest module dimensions and extremely low power consumption compared to 2Gb based solutions. They allow system populations of 16GB on COM or SBC boards and even higher densities on industrial servers. The low power consumption guarantees reliable operation in systems with critical cooling conditions and supports the green environmental initiatives, saving valuable resources.

The 8GB SODIMMs are available with or without ECC support, running at DDR3-
1333.

The 8GB registered DIMM comes in an ultra low profile form factor with a height of only 0.7inch or 17.8mm thanks to the small DRAM package size and therefore is ideally suited for blade systems.

Intensive testing of each module at low and high temperatures guarantees for a high quality product. The modules are available in both commercial 0°C to +85°C (TCase) and industrial -40°C to +95°C (TCase) temperature grades at PC3-10600 speed grade.

The 8GB modules are compliant to the respective JEDEC DDR3 specifications and are supported by the latest DDR3 memory controllers.

Want early design analysis without simulation?

Sponsored by Siemens Digital Industries Software

Traditional verification methods are failing today's complex IC designs, which require a proactive, early-stage analysis approach. A shift-left methodology addresses IP block integration challenges and the limitations of traditional simulation and ERC tools. Insight Analyzer detects hard-to-find leakage issues across power domains, enabling early analysis without full simulation. Identify inefficiencies earlier to reduce rework, improve reliability, and enhance power performance.
