Avnet Express Announces the Engineer Wish List, Just in Time for Holiday Shopping

If you’re having a hard time choosing what to get the engineer in your company this holiday season, Avnet Express has the perfect solution. Today, the e-Commerce engine for Avnet Electronics Marketing, an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), announces the ability for engineers to create their very own wish list – from Avnet’s catalog of more than five million parts.

Registered customers can now visit Avnet Express and choose the products they need, placing them in a virtual shopping cart. After their selections are made, an email is then generated and sent to a pre-designated buyer on the account. Once the buyer approves the order, the engineer receives a notification that the order is on the way. Same-day shipping is available for orders placed before 8:00 P.M. CST. To start creating a wish list, contact an Avnet sales representative or send an email to the web at customer.care@avnet.com.

“We know that innovation can happen at any time, even at three in the morning,” said Beth Ely, senior vice president, Avnet Express. “With the Engineer Wish List, Avnet has provided a way for engineers to automatically notify buyers in their company what products they need. For engineers who typically don’t approve orders themselves, this unique service helps streamline the purchasing process and get the design phase started a whole lot faster.”

And while the holidays will come and go before you know it, the Wish List feature is here to stay. In addition to the Engineer Wish List, Avnet Express offers parametric searching capabilities and the ability to upload a bill of materials (BOM) for easier sourcing of products and a consistent global platform of localized content. The site can be accessed in nine languages and 13 currencies.
