Timesys Expands Professional Services and Training Programs

PITTSBURGH, Dec. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Timesys Corporation (http://www.timesys.com), provider of the industry’s most-easy-to-use and affordable embedded Linux solutions, today announced the company’s recent success with and increased focus on its Professional Services andTraining offerings. Timesys is adding several new Professional Services and Training options, providing embedded developers a more robust offering that further enables them to successfully and quickly bring their embedded Linux products to market.

The company’s no nonsense, ‘just in time,’ Professional Services represent a reliable resource for engineering teams looking to shorten their development time and learning curve for embedded Linux projects. A focus on high quality, high touch and responsiveness has resulted in the company enjoying a fast growing roster of customers with projects that range from enabling a GUI for an in-flight entertainment system to developing a power-based vehicle tracking system using an embedded SQL/PHP Web server.

Over the past 24 months, more and more Timesys customers are relying on the company’s embedded Linux expertise to meet deadlines and feature requirements. Based on the increased customer demand, Timesys has expanded its Professional Services offering to add a LinuxLink + Pro Services Bundle and additional services such as Android Evaluation and Design services.

“When we needed embedded Linux professional services, we selected Timesys because of their in-depth knowledge of Linux,” said Steve Hawkins, CTO, The IMS Company. “The Timesys team has experience across all major embedded hardware platforms including the one that we are targeting, and they are very easy to work with. We were happy to be able to bring in a very responsive and engaged group of engineers who delivered our project on time and in accordance with our requirements.”

Continuing its focus on helping companies successfully bring their products to market, the company has also added new embedded Linux training programs to help alleviate the shortage of experienced embedded Linux developers. The new training courses include:

  • Introduction to Embedded Linux
  • Embedded Linux Board Support Packages and Device Drivers
  • Embedded Linux Applications Design and Optimization
  • Embedded Linux Networking Fundamentals
  • Embedded Linux Applications Intensive

In addition, Timesys has expanded its ‘Timesys University’ online tracks, which focus on building embedded Linux-based devices around popular processors and their related development kits, to include ‘Timesys University Local Edition’ workshops, which are partner-collaborated, on-site events.

“We recognize that our customers face unique challenges which are due to the complexity of embedded development combined with the shortage of experienced embedded Linux engineers,” said Atul Bansal, CEO of Timesys. “Timesys is committed to enabling our customers’ success by helping them quickly and easily build their differentiated products and bring them to market. When you consider the depth of our Linux expertise/experience, the value we provide through our extensive training programs, and our clear and predictable Professional Services engagement process, we are the best value for embedded Linux professional services.”
