Rohde & Schwarz Develops Wireless Communication Infrastructure Training & Certification Program

Columbia, MD, September 21, 2011 — Rohde & Schwarz, a leading manufacturer of test & measurement, communications and broadcasting equipment, has developed a training and certification program for the wireless communication infrastructure community.  The Rohde Scholar Training Program consists of several two-day courses that address mobile communications, television and broadcasting, and radio monitoring and radiolocation markets.  The courses focus on topics such as interference hunting & spectrum clearing, as well as base station maintenance, installation and antenna testing.

The Rohde Scholar Training Program covers theoretical aspects as well as several practical exercises and is intended for field technicians and engineers, installation companies, service providers and carriers.  Courses can be held onsite or interested people may sign up at one of the public locations.

“As the nation’s wireless communication infrastructure continues to expand and new technologies are deployed, evaluating these new systems can raise new questions and pose new challenges for those in the field.  We developed intermediate and advanced level courses that address a wide range of markets and applications to aid the wireless communication infrastructure industry regarding the use of Rohde & Schwarz test and measurement technology,” said Mark Kulper, director of product marketing and marketing communications at Rohde & Schwarz.  “We will continue to expand our education program and plan to develop application notes that discuss fundamental usage methodologies and address relevant industry questions.”

To learn more about the Rohde Scholar Training Program, visit booth 238/335 at the PCIA – Wireless Infrastructure Show in in Dallas, Texas on Oct 3-6, 2011.  At the PCIA show, Rohde & Schwarz will also be showcasing its handheld tools for base station installation, maintenance and antenna testing used by field engineers, tools for interference hunting and spectrum clearing, as well as drive test tools for network performance measurements and optimization, that are used by service providers and carriers.  In addition, the latest test equipment for testing of Remote Radio Heads (RRH) over the CPRI interface are demonstrated as well as USB power sensors designed for fast and most accurate power measurements in the field.
