Agilent Technologies Introduces First-to-Market 40, 50- and 67-GHz High-Frequency Switches

SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 7, 2011 – Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced the introduction of 40, 50 and 67-GHz SPDT and bypass switches. This expands the well-accepted N1810/1/2 series switches with three new frequency options, delivering the only 67-GHz electro-mechanical switch on the market today. These new switches are ideal for customers needing to test radar, satellite, wireless-HDMI and microwave backhaul radios, as well as customers working with high bit rates in high-speed digital designs.

“Agilent is the established leader of high-performance switches with exceptional reliability and repeatability,” said Tan Boon Khim, operations manager, Test Accessories Operation, Agilent. “These new series of high-frequency SPDT and bypass switches expand our portfolio of high-performance switches to customers who need to test components and subsystems to 67 GHz and to maximize test efficiency without compromising measurement accuracy or reliability.”

The N1810TL/UL, terminated and unterminated SPDT latching coaxial switches, and the N1811TL/12UL four-port and five-port bypass switches, combine unmatched configuration flexibility with excellent repeatability, long life and reliability.

Additional capabilities include:

  • High reliability and exceptional 0.05 dB insertion loss repeatability, minimizing system uncertainty and reducing downtime.
  • Long operating life of 5 million cycles guaranteed and 10 million cycles typical, reducing cost of ownership.
  • Excellent isolation > 70 dB at 67 GHz, maximizing measurement accuracy.
