EVE, Xena Networks Link Hardware-Assisted Verification Platform with Ethernet Testing Solution

SAN JOSE, CALIF. –– May 25, 2011 –– EVE, the leader in hardware/software co-verification, and Xena Networks of Copenhagen, Denmark, jointly announced today a strategic development partnership where EVE’s best-in-class ZeBu hardware-assisted verification family has been integrated with Xena’s high-density Ethernet testing solution.

Xena’s gigabit Ethernet tester is used for load-stress and functional testing of Ethernet equipment and network infrastructure.  The integration of XenaBay and XenaCompact testers with ZeBu (for zero bugs) emulation delivers a comprehensive and cost-effective Ethernet testing system for next-generation Ethernet switch chips.  XenaCompact generates multi-port 1G Ethernet traffic through EVE’s multi-port Ethernet in-circuit emulation (ICE) speed-rate adapter with traffic buffering to manage dataflow to ZeBu emulating the design under test (DUT).

“Many design teams develop in-house test systems, but continue to search for commercial test equipment that won’t stretch their capital equipment budget,” notes Luc Burgun, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of EVE.  “Xena’s cost-effective class of Ethernet test equipment shows great appeal, especially when it can be integrated with a hardware-assisted verification platform such as ZeBu.”

EVE will offer demonstrations of the ZeBu hardware-assisted verification family in Booth #2836, South Hall at the 48th Design Automation Conference (DAC) June 6-8 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, Calif.

“This partnership is particularly strong and has the potential to be long range and far reaching,” notes Jacob V. Nielsen, CEO of Xena Networks ApS.  “EVE’s and Xena Networks’ business philosophies are similar and our goals are aligned.  Further, the simplicity of Xena’s technology enables it to be fully and easily integrated into EVE’s solutions.”
