ADLINK Technology Announces Extreme Rugged™ ETX™ Module Based on the Intel® Atom™ Processor

Thursday March 3, 2011, San Jose, CA – ADLINK Technology, Inc., a leading global provider of ruggedized embedded products, announces the Ampro by ADLINK™ ETX-PVR, its latest Extreme Rugged™ ETX Computer-on-Module (COM). The ETX-PVR module provides scalable processing power by offering a range of Intel® Atom™ processors, from the power efficient single core N450 processor to the high performance dual core D510 processor. Highly integrated with support for legacy I/O, the ETX-PVR delivers the advantage of a standardized form factor, ADLINK’s field-proven design-for-ruggedness methodologies and the latest Intel® Atom™ processors. The ETX-PVR is an ideal EOL replacement for customers wishing to migrate from older ETX platforms to the next generation Intel® Atom™ processor.

The ETX-PVR features 45nm process Intel® Atom™ processors with memory and graphics controllers integrated on chip, supporting single channel DDR2 667MHz SODIMM memory up to 2 GB, single channel LVDS at 1280 x 800 and a VGA interface at 1400 x 1050. The ETX-PVR offers a choice of the power efficient single core Intel® Atom™ N450, Intel® Atom™ D410 single core and high performance Intel® Atom™ D510 dual core processors.

“Ranging from the low power N450 to the high performance dual core D510, the Intel Atom is the perfect addition to the Ampro by ADLINK™ lineup of ETX modules and will build on the success of our previous Extreme Rugged™ ETX offerings. The ETX-PVR is an ideal upgrade for the huge number of existing ETX applications world wide,” said Brian Healy, Product Management Manager of ADLINK.

Designed to meet the stringent requirements of the Extreme Rugged product line and not just screened, the ETX-PVR uses a 50% thicker PCB for sustained shock and vibration resistance and supports a -40°C to +85°C operating temperature range. Ampro by ADLINK™ Extreme Rugged™ products are designed from the ground up for harsh environments and are the cornerstone of ADLINK’s commitment to providing long life support solutions for aerospace, military, defense and transportation industries.

About the ETX-PVR

The ETX-PVR supports up to 2 GB of DDR2 memory, a 4GB solid state drive (soldered) and two SATA 3 Gb/s ports on board. The ETX-PVR also provides ETX I/O interfaces for Gigabit Ethernet, four USB 2.0 ports, two RS-232 ports, and an IDE (PATA) channel. Legacy support is also provided for PCI and ISA.
