IAR Systems Commits its Support for STMicroelectronics STM32 F-2 Cortex-M3 based MCUs

December 14th Uppsala, Sweden. IAR Systems® announced today the availability of IAR Embedded Workbench® for ARM® that supports the recently released STM32 F-2 series of high performance ARM Cortex-M3 based microcontrollers. Believed to be the fastest Cortex-M3 device available and capable of achieving up to 150 Dhrystone MIPS, the STM32 F-2 device is aimed at high-performance power-sensitive applications. The STM32 F-2 together with IAR Embedded Workbench, with its ability to generate highly optimized and efficient code, is an ideal combination.

IAR Embedded Workbench already supports every microcontroller available from STMicroelectronics. With the addition of this latest series to the extensive microcontroller targets, IAR Systems provides one of the industry’s most comprehensive range of tools available for the STM32 series.

An IAR KickStart Kit for the STM32 F-2 series will be launched early in 2011. It will feature evaluation copies of software, an evaluation board with a comprehensive range of peripheral units and interfaces, and example projects.

IAR Embedded Workbench is an Integrated Development Environment with power debugging and is a complete and easy-to-use set of C/C++ cross compiler and debugger tools for professional embedded applications. It contains project manager, editor, linker and librarian tools, C-SPY® debugger, full integration with IAR J-Link, complete upgrade path available from IAR Systems. IAR visualSTATE® is a UML-compliant graphical design environment for reactive systems, with advanced formal verification and validation tools as well as a very powerful code generator.

Quickly and accurately identify inter-domain leakage issues in IC designs

Sponsored by Siemens Digital Industries Software

Power domain leakage is a major IC reliability issue, often missed by traditional tools. This white paper describes challenges of identifying leakage, types of false results, and presents Siemens EDA’s Insight Analyzer. The tool proactively finds true leakage paths, filters out false positives, and helps circuit designers quickly fix risks—enabling more robust, reliable chip designs. With detailed, context-aware analysis, designers save time and improve silicon quality.
