DVCon 2011 Announces Technical Program

Louisville, CO – December 8, 2010 – The 2011 Design and Verification Conference (DVCon), sponsored by Accellera, continues its tradition of providing a technical program unparalleled in its industry.  The advance program and registration information is now available on the website (www.dvcon.org). DVCon 2011 will be held February 28-March 3 at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Jose, California.

The keynote will be presented by Wally Rhines, chairman and CEO of Mentor Graphics, on Tuesday, March 1 at 4:00pm in the Oak/Fir Ballroom.  The industry leaders panel will be moderated by JL Gray, vice president at Verilab and author of “Cool Verification” and will be held on a new night, Wednesday evening March 2nd at 3:45pm in the Oak/Fir Ballroom.  Poster sessions have also been added on Tuesday and will be held twice during the day: from 10:30-11:00am and 3:30-4:00pm in the Gateway foyer.  There will be a variety of sessions to choose from, each targeted at a different area of interest and presented by sponsoring vendors and organizations.

“We’re delighted to bring you another valuable conference, rich with the information you need to know as you tackle the challenges of developing today’s complex integrated circuit designs and electronic design automation tools,” commented Karen Bartleson, DVCon 2011 General Chair.  “We used the attendee survey from last year’s DVCon as a guide to put together a high-quality program that will meet, and we hope exceed, your expectations.”

The organizers of DVCon consider attendee comments very important and strive to improve the conference based on feedback each year.  The top three requests attendees had for more information in the area of design were: system on chip, transaction-level modeling & design, and design for verification. The top three requests in the area of verification were: hardware/software system verification, verification IP & reuse, and design for verification. As paper abstracts and tutorial proposals came in, the program committee chose those that would best address the topics of interest.

MaxLinear Integrates Analog & Digital Design in One Chip with Cadence 3D Solvers

Sponsored by Cadence Design Systems

MaxLinear has the unique capability of integrating analog and digital design on the same chip. Because of this, the team developed some interesting technology in the communication space. In the optical infrastructure domain, they created the first fully integrated 5nm CMOS PAM4 DSP. All their products solve critical communication and high-frequency analysis challenges.

Learn more about how MaxLinear is using Cadence’s Clarity 3D Solver and EMX Planar 3D Solver in their design process.

Designing Robust 5G Power Amplifiers for the Real World

Sponsored by Keysight

Simulating 5G power amplifier (PA) designs at the component and system levels with authentic modulation and high-fidelity behavioral models increases predictability, lowers risk, and shrinks schedules. Simulation software enables multi-technology layout and multi-domain analysis, evaluating the impacts of 5G PA design choices while delivering accurate results in a single virtual workspace. This application note delves into how authentic modulation enhances predictability and performance in 5G millimeter-wave systems.
