GateRocket Brings FPGA Verification Solutions to India, Signs Distribution Agreement with Trident Techlabs Pvt Ltd.

BEDFORD, MA – November 30, 2010– GateRocket, Inc., the leading supplier of verification and debug solutions for advanced FPGAs, continues to expand its international presence with the signing of Trident Techlabs Pvt. Ltd, a leading solution-provider in CAD/CAE for the engineering industry, to distribute and support its products in India.  Trident will bring sales and service for GateRocket’s RocketDrive® and RocketVision® FPGA verification to its customers throughout the country.  GateRocket announced a relationship earlier this year with AcconSys to distribute its products in China.

As FPGA device complexity and size continue to grow, design verification has become the primary time-to-market challenge. GateRocket offers the industry’s first Device Native® approach to the specific verification and debug challenges involved with the most advanced FPGAs from Xilinx and Altera. It focuses exclusively on FPGA design, and its RocketDrive and RocketVision products cut FPGA simulation and lab debug time in half versus traditional approaches. This is accomplished by integrating the FPGA into the simulation environment through the RocketDrive to enable a native execution of the design on the target FPGA device.  The accompanying RocketVision debugging tool provides unprecedented levels of visibility and patent-pending debug algorithms to enable engineers to track down and correct sources of design errors. By combining the actual FPGA hardware and RTL simulation models in the same verification run, GateRocket slashes verification and lab debugging time.

“The Indian IC design ecosystem is rapidly expanding, resulting in increased adoption of advanced FPGA-based methodologies, both for production and prototyping,” said GateRocket President and CEO, Dave Orecchio.  “Trident Techlabs has the expertise and relationships to successfully proliferate the GateRocket solution across this important and innovative market, and their existing business with GateRocket partners such as Mentor Graphics make them well-positioned to deliver our solutions to the market here.”

Trident Techlabs’ experience with Mentor’s tools is a valuable asset for GateRocket, as the two EDA companies have recently collaborated on a streamlined verification-to-synthesis flow, a solution that is especially well-tuned for developers of FPGAs targeting safety-critical applications in military and aerospace markets – a growing market for India-based design operations. The solution combines the performance and efficiency of GateRocket’s tool set for FPGA debug and verification with Mentor’s Precision® Synthesis solution, a high-performance FPGA tool suite that is also the industry’s leading rad-tolerant synthesis-based solution. The integration allows designers to more efficiently verify and debug important high-reliability features such as synthesis-based triple modular redundancy (TMR) and compliance with safety-critical standards
such as DO-254.

“Many of our customers are currently experiencing long and painful verification cycles for this new class of large FPGAs,” said Nilesh Paldhikar, Executive Director, Trident Techlabs.  “We see the introduction of GateRocket’s innovative products as an ideal solution for these challenges, and we are very excited to be offering them at this time.”
