Spectrum Digital Announces New JTAG Emulator

Kane Computing Ltd (KCL) are pleased to announce that Spectrum Digital Inc. the leading provider of development tools for Texas Instruments (TI) Digital Signal Processors (DSPs), announces the introduction of the XDS560v2 System Trace JTAG Emulator for single chip DSPs, multi-core devices, and SoCs produced by Texas Instruments.

This new emulator delivers a higher level of debug capability required by the developer using these high performance processors. These new capabilities are aimed at developing better software, reducing the development cycle, and shortening time to market. The emulator offers standard features not previously available in the TI arena: MIPI System Trace on select processors, simultaneous Ethernet and USB interfaces to the host PC/laptop, modular JTAG tail, and MIPI JTAG interface with modular target adapters.

Using the XDS560v2 and TI’s Code Composer Studio IDETM 4.2 or later gives developers the most powerful tools available to generate advanced applications with state of the art TI processors.

The emulator to host connection options (USB 2.0 and/or Ethernet) give the user greater flexibility in setting up the debug hardware environment.

The XDS560v2 supports the following TI processor families: C28xxx, C64x+, C5000, C6000, OMAP3TM, OMAP4TM, OMAP-L13x, DavinciTM and ARM. Processors with JTAG interface levels ranging from +1.2v to 4.1v are supported by the XDS560v2. There are 9 LEDs that provide operational status of the emulator along with a user accessible RESET switch.

The XDS560v2 kit includes:

  • XDS560v2 System Trace JTAG emulator
  • USB cable
  • Ethernet cable
  • RS-232 cable
  • JTAG cable with 4 target adapters (MIPI60-TI14, MIPI60-CTI20, MIPI60-TI60, MIPI60-ARM20
  • Universal power supply with 3 line cords
  • Documentation (Setup instructions, Technical Reference Manual, Adapter schematics)
  • CD-ROM containing drivers
