Hospital hopes to make young patients’ experience less scary with a pirate CT scanner

New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital has installed a new pirate-themed CT scanner that helps make the experience less scary for the hospital’s younger patients. “The parents have been really positive too. It makes it less scarier for the kids,” Pediatric Radiology chief Dr. Carrie Ruzal-Shapiro told BuzzFeed, “Our more adult patients ages 17 to 21 ask for the pirate scanner, too.”
