Designers Andrew Spitz, Markus Schmeiduch and Ruben van der Vleuten have developed a Braille-like navigation device for blind people, to help them navigate new routes in cities. Called ‘Blind Maps’, the device provides the blind with a tactile interface to help them navigate through new routes, intersections and turns—as well as warn them of road hazards.
