Xilinx to Showcase Beamforming and Fusion Tracking System at 2010 Military & Aerospace Electronics Forum

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 1 — Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ:XLNX) today announced its participation at the Military & Aerospace Electronics Forum (MAEF) at the San Diego Convention Center, June 3-4, 2010. The company will show how its industry-leading Virtex® and Spartan® series FPGAs, IP and development tools can be used by system architects to drive beamforming, DO-254 design assurance, missiles defense, UAV reconnaissance and surveillance applications.

What: Military & Aerospace Electronics Forum 2010

Where: San Diego Convention Center, Booth #554

When: June 3-4, 2010

Xilinx will be showcasing a Pentek eight-channel demonstration of beamforming, which is typically used with an array of sensors or antennas for high performance radio frequency MIMO (multiple input multiple output) . This beamforming system uses Virtex-6 FPGAs along with a Xilinx Aurora protocol gigabit serial interface engine implemented as IP within the devices. For advanced UAV situational awareness and target tracking, Eutecus will be showcasing at the Xilinx booth its Fusion Tracking System using the low-power and low-cost Spartan series FPGAs. Additionally, Xilinx will also be demonstrating a DO-254 design flow, in conjunction with Mentor Graphics, based on the “Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware” standard that is currently being enforced by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other worldwide aviation certification agencies to ensure the safety of in-flight hardware.
