SiliconXpress Receives Department of Defense (DoD) ‘Trusted Design’ Accreditation

LUBBOCK, Texas, April 8 /PRNewswire/ — SiliconXpress, an innovative electronic solutions provider specializing in field-programmable gate array (FPGA), application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) and package substrate designs, today announced it has received accreditation to provide “trusted design” services for integrated circuits at its Lubbock, Texas facility.

SiliconXpress’ Category 1A status was awarded through the Trusted Integrated Circuit Supplier Accreditation Program of the Department of Defense (DoD).

The accreditation program is part of DoD’s strategy to ensure that electronic components used in United States military and national security applications are trustworthy. Accreditation is necessary because the increasing offshore migration of all sectors of the microelectronics industry comes at a time of increasing demand for high-performance, application-specific integrated circuits from military and national security agencies.

“We are honored to be accredited as a trusted design provider by the DoD and look forward to new opportunities for growth this accreditation will bring,” said Dr. Aftab Farooqi, president and chief executive officer of SiliconXpress. “Our passion for innovation, commitment to quality and vast industry experience make us a reliable choice for the government’s circuit design needs.”
