Option and Kobil to develop revolutionary 3G solution for secured transactions

LEUVEN, Belgium, March 1 2010 – Option (EURONEXT Brussels: OPTI; OTC: OPNVY), the wireless technology company, and Kobil Systems GmbH, a market-leading trendsetter of mobile IT solutions in the area of digital identities, today announced that they collaborate the development and combined selling of a new strategic security product, the mIDentity 3G. The mIDentity 3G will be unique in combining wireless broadband 3G technology and digital security of data and identities while opening up a market for new services and applications. The secured 3G solution, a breakthrough in mobile security, will already become available later this year and will be commercialized via Option’s and Kobil’s commercial channels.

The European companies Option and Kobil are engaged in a strategic cooperation. Kobil’s mIDentity currently is a smartcard-reader with encrypted storage in a USB-product format ensuring a highly secure and simple transaction experience whilst preventing third-party access. Thus, the hardware characteristics of mIDentity 3G provides global mobility and permanent security for your digital identity. Option will not only provide its expertise in terms of 3G connectivity but also adds software to this solution. The products of both companies support Zero Footprint meaning that they operate without installation. This technology has already been patented. Combined the result will be a device where the user simply inserts the mIDentity 3G into the USB port of any Windows, Mac or Linux computer and, for example, have immediate access to an online banking account or corporate Intranet without having to install any software or drivers. mIDentity 3G will offer proven and innovative functions such as Zero-Footprint, Zero-CD, Mobile Office, Mobile Secure Cloud in the pocket, Secure Communication, Centralized Controlled Use, Infinite Storage, Data Loss Prevention and Data Flow Control.

Jan Callewaert, CEO at Option said: “This is a truly unique innovation undertaken by two European companies. We’re very happy to be working with Kobil on the development of this solution which will prove to be vital for securing our digital identity. This cooperation is also further proof of Option’s strategy to focus on bringing wireless broadband solution offerings, including software, high-value services and hardware.”

“We are proud to join the development of a new and absolutely fantastic strategic security product, the mIDentity 3G, in partnership with Option. The development of this product is only possible because of the know-how of both technology companies. Both are trendsetters and innovators which complement each other perfectly. We are certain that in the future the demand for mIDentity 3G will be significant”, said Ismet Koyun, CEO of KOBIL.

Kobil Systems will be present at the RSA Conference USA 2010 (1- 5 March, Moscone Center – San Francisco) and at CeBIT (2 – 6 March, Hannover – Germany), Hall 11, Booth D63.
