Flat NanoServer® with Full HD

Munich, January 2010 – For sophisticated graphic and computing applications, DSM Computer is presenting the extremely flat NanoServer® E8-GM45 at the “embedded world” trade show. The high-end computer based on the Intel® GM45/ICH9M chipset integrates the high-performance Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator GMA 4500MHD with DirectX 10 support. Thanks to its video decoding capability, the graphic controller can decode high-resolution HD videos in AVC/VC2/MPEG2 format and so remove a significant load from the processor. The main memory with a maximum capacity of 2 x 4 GB provides sufficient reserves, even for Windows® 7 in its 64-bit version.

The NanoServer® E8-GM45 supports a wide range of current Intel® Core™ 2 duo processors, including the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo CPU T9400 with up to 1066 MHz FSB and 2.53 GHz clock speed. Because the Intel® CoreTM 2 duo processors belong to Intel’s Embedded Roadmap, DSM can guarantee a long availability of at least four years for the E8-GM45 embedded system.

Despite its small height of only of 58 mm and its small housing dimensions of 204 x 226 mm, as standard, the NanoServer® E8-GM45 provides a wide range of interfaces: eight USB 2.0 (four external, four internal), four serial ports, audio, VGA and DVI (optional). In addition to GBit-Ethernet, if required, support is also provided for Wireless LAN 802.11 b/g. The embedded system provides space for a 2.5 inch HDD (EIDE or SATA II) or a robust solid-state drive. Thanks to the screwed-on detachable base flap, direct access is available to the Mini PCI Express x1 slot, the Compact Flash socket and the integrated hard disk.

In the industrial environment, the robust industry computer can be connected directly to the electrical power network using a 12 V DC power input (optional 24 V DC). Alternatively, power can be supplied using a 100 – 240 V AC power pack or, in mobile applications, with an internal automotive power pack. The industry computer integrates a temperature-controlled system fan and is approved for operation in the 0 to 50 °C temperature range.

Typical fields of application of the NanoServer® E8-GM45 are high-quality kiosk and digital signage display systems, control computers for large-area displays, and machine and plant controllers with limited space but high-performance requirements.

DSM Computer is present at the embedded world in Hall 12, Booth 208.

Quickly and accurately identify inter-domain leakage issues in IC designs

Sponsored by Siemens Digital Industries Software

Power domain leakage is a major IC reliability issue, often missed by traditional tools. This white paper describes challenges of identifying leakage, types of false results, and presents Siemens EDA’s Insight Analyzer. The tool proactively finds true leakage paths, filters out false positives, and helps circuit designers quickly fix risks—enabling more robust, reliable chip designs. With detailed, context-aware analysis, designers save time and improve silicon quality.
