IAR Systems introduces global volume license program (VLP)

Uppsala, Sweden–December 1, 2009–IAR Systems today announced a global volume license program. With its support for more than 20 different 8-, 16-, and 32-bit MCU architectures, IAR Systems is the world’s leading provider of software tools for embedded systems and this new program is tailored to benefit both new and existing customers.

IAR Volume License Program targets all customers that wish to save money by reusing previous investments, ensure flexibility in multiple and time-critical projects and/or want to protect their investment by additional support and services. The program includes five different levels; customers receive a combination of benefits and discounts based on how many registered IAR Embedded Workbench licenses they have.

Within the volume license program, it will be easier for companies to move between different product editions and also between the different MCU architectures supported by IAR Embedded Workbench. In addition to this flexibility, the benefits also cover services and a software license subscription model for companies with many software engineers.

Stefan Skarin, CEO, IAR Systems commented, “IAR Embedded Workbench is the most widely used tool suite for embedded systems development, with thousands of customers across the world who have chosen us thanks to our product quality and technical support. Many of our key accounts have customized agreements but we want to extend a flexible model also to all our other loyal customers, including those with smaller development departments. We are extremely proud of our loyal customers and this new program will give them an even better value from their software investment.”

“Success is measured by how a company treats even its smallest accounts”, commented Nadim Shehayed, IAR Systems US manager. “The commitment we have to our large customer base is second to none. With our new volume license program, we will further aid customers to obtain the best possible return on their software investment.” he added.

By purchasing a new license of IAR Embedded Workbench customers enter the program at the level which their current licenses or intentions bring them to. The program allows customers to combine all IAR Embedded Workbench products they have for different target MCUs and covers all such products available at the time of purchase.
