Option 3G solution in Google Android 2.0 development platform for pocket, handheld and tablet devices from MOTO Development Group

LEUVEN, Belgium – November 24, 2009 – Option, the wireless technology company, today announced that its GTM501, the world’s smallest 3G module and one of Option’s broadband wireless breakthroughs, will be used in MOTO Development Group’s Android 2.0 Media Platform (AMP) offering reduced time-to-market for next-generation multi-touch consumer and enterprise electronics device developers. This project further demonstrates the Option’s strategy to support innovative Original Equipment Manufacturers and Original Design Manufacturers integrating 3G connectivity.

MOTO Development Group recently launched its AMP development platform for consumer and enterprise electronics designed to run Google’s Android(TM) 2.0 mobile operating system. Consumer Electronics (CE) companies can leverage MOTO’s full-featured and flexible Android Media Platform to facilitate user experience and interface prototyping, develop software, extend hardware capabilities and reduce time to market for high-volume 2011 Android mobile connected devices. MOTO’s 5″ handheld AMP development platform running Android 2.0 and Texas Instruments’ OMAP processor is available for customization today; pocket and tablet form factor mobile computing and entertainment product utilizing next generation OMAP processors are in development for availability in 2010.
