WonderMedia PRIZM™ Platform Supports Microsoft’s Latest Windows Embedded CE Platform

Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 introduces a host of new features that provide a richer experience for WonderMedia Smart device users

Taipei, Taiwan, November 12, 2009 – WonderMedia Technologies, Inc, a leading innovator of feature-rich system-on-chip platforms,?today announced that the WonderMedia PRIZM™ platform provides support for Microsoft’s latest release of the componentized, real-time Windows Embedded CE platform: Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3.

New features and technologies to deliver differentiated specialized devices with immersive user interfaces, rich browsing experiences and unique connections to Windows PCs, servers and online services in Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 include an Adobe Flash Lite plug-in that enables a browser to render media-rich Web sites, a new Internet Explorer Embedded browser that supports both touch and gestures and allows for smooth panning and zooming, and a Connection Manager that manages access to data connections and handles interactions between voice and data connections.

A Board Support Package (BSP) for WonderMedia systems supports Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 throughout the WonderMedia PRIZM range of silicon, including its SmartFrame, SmartClient and network projector designs.

Additionally, integration of third party software such as Tencent QQ Messenger, the most popular instant messaging program in Mainland China, makes Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 especially suitable for use in the WonderMedia Smartbook – a new class of ultra-portable broadband device offering rich multimedia and communication suites.
