New Limiting Amplifiers from Fairview Microwave Protect Receivers from Excessive Power and Distortion

Allen, TX – Fairview Microwave Inc., a supplier of on-demand microwave and RF components, announces new RF limiting amplifiers that are commonly used in electronic warfare, microwave receivers and broadband communications systems to protect components from high input power levels while providing constant output over a wide input dynamic range.

Fairview’s new limiting amplifiers consist of 4 models that cover broad frequency bands ranging from 1 to 18 GHz.  Excellent technical performance is achieved from hybrid MIC assemblies that utilize advanced GaAs PHEMT semiconductors. Each model produces high gain levels ranging from 40 to 80 dB typical and can handle a wide dynamic range of input power levels from -61 dBm to +20 dBm, while generating a limited output power level between +15 to +19 dBm. Saturated output power deviation is +/- 0.5 dB typical over the specific frequency range.

The new broadband limiting amplifiers are available in compact SMA connectorized packages that are hermetically sealed and are designed to withstand harsh environmental conditions with operating temperatures ranging from -30 to +70 degrees C. For added reliability, additional design features are incorporated including built-in voltage regulation, bias sequencing, reverse bias protection, and overvoltage protection is installed externally for easy repair. These limiting amplifiers are unconditionally stable and fully matched internally for 50 Ohm input and output, which eliminates the customers need for any additional sensitive external RF tuning components.

“Ensuring our customers always find the products they need on the shelf and available to ship immediately is no small feat,” explains Brian McCutcheon, Vice President and General Manager at Fairview. “The rapid expansion of our RF amplifier line is another reason why engineers and buyers across the globe choose Fairview to solve their RF product challenges.”

Fairview’s new limiting amplifiers are now in-stock and available to ship today. You can view these new waveguide components by visitinghttp://www.fairviewmicrowave.com/rf-products/limiting-amplifiers.html directly. Fairview Microwave can be contacted at +1-972-649-6678.
