LocalGrid Fog Computing Platform™ for the Industrial Internet of Things To be Unveiled at DistribuTECH 2015

Toronto, ON, CA – January 30, 2015 – LocalGrid Technologies (LocalGrid™), a leader in real-time Industrial Internet of Things platforms for distributed systems, is set to unveil their Beta Program for the LocalGrid Fog Computing Platform™ at DistribuTECH 2015. LocalGrid Fog Computing Platform, to formally be launched in 2015, is a robust Industrial-grade software platform for real -time, mission-critical applications and integrating distributed intelligent systems.

“We have been working with our partners on the LocalGrid Fog Computing Platform for the last couple years and are excited to launch this program at DistribuTECH,” said Bob Leigh, CEO for LocalGrid. “In the next ten years, the emergence of low cost computing power and the prevalence of intelligent devices at the edge is going to transform every business and every sector. LocalGrid is excited to be at the forefront of this next industrial wave.”

LocalGrid™ has developed the first platform ideally suited for secure Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications for real-time analytics, control and decision-making. The platform is built on RTI’s Connext® DDS software, a proven and powerful solution designed for critical systems that must securely and reliably manage high volumes of data.

“RTI is excited to partner with LocalGrid on its Fog Computing Platform,” said David Barnett, Vice President of Products and Markets at RTI. “By providing a unified, scalable and secure interface to the myriad industrial protocols deployed today, LocalGrid is making it much easier for enterprises to exploit the transformational potential of the IIoT.”

Unique benefits of LocalGrid Fog Computing Platform™:

  • Transform to and from heterogeneous communication protocols using a secure, open standard protocols that reduces latency and bandwidth
  • Reduce bandwidth using in-field analytics to pre-process and reduce data traffic
  • Decrease latency using IIoT protocols designed for real-time control
  • Increase cyber-security using best-in-class security technology and Secure Data Model
  • Accelerate IIoT projects and lower costs with a proven platform solution

LocalGrid will be exhibiting in booths #813 and #1923 at the upcoming DistribuTECH conference and providing live demonstrations in booth #813 at 11am and 2pm – be sure to visit us and learn more about our next-generation IIoT solutions.
