Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas Celebrates 40-Year Milestone with Texas Instruments

PHOENIX—- Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, a business region of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT) and global electronics manufacturer and supplier Texas Instruments Inc. (NASDAQ: TXN) are celebrating their 40-year business relationship. Together, Avnet and TI have innovated support models that give design chain and supply chain customers better access to the analog chips, embedded processing solutions and development tools they need to create state-of-the-art, high-performance products that are smarter, greener and more cost effective.

“For a business relationship to last as long as the one between Avnet and TI has, there needs to be more than just an economic value,” said Ed Smith, president, Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas. “I think Avnet and TI have enjoyed such an enduring relationship because both companies not only have a passion for bringing the best the technology world has to offer to market, but we also share a commitment to conducting our businesses with honor, with respect for our environment and with a steadfast appreciation for our people and the communities in which we operate. We look forward to many more years of collaboration to bring advanced technology solutions to our mutual customers.”

Avnet and TI work closely to help educate the engineering community on design techniques to leverage next-generation technologies through programs like the Innovation Hour technical webinar series. The eight-part series, which ran throughout 2014, focused on new TI processing, power, signal chain and wireless products as well as available resources, development tools, technical documentation, reference designs, application expertise and third-party programs available from TI and Avnet. TI was also a sponsor of Avnet’s 2014/15 X-fest global technical seminar series.

“Texas Instruments is proud of our long-standing collaboration with Avnet. We have the industry’s largest product portfolio and manufacturing footprint, and in order to support the tens of thousands of TI customers, we need partnerships like the one we have in Avnet,” said Ray Upton, vice president of Americas sales and applications, Texas Instruments.
