Avalue Introduces HPC-BYT for IoT and Industry 4.0 Applications

TAIPEI, TAIWAN, JULY 12th, 2016 – Avalue Technology Inc. (TAIEX: 3479-TW), a global embedded solution provider and an associate member of the Intel® Internet of Things Solutions Alliance, brings HPC-BYT embedded system to the market to catch the trend of IoT development. This new machine is featured with Intel Bay Trail platform to meet the requirements of IoT-relevant applications include exceptional video and graphics performance, high speed data processing with low power and low profile design. In addition, with the concern of the possibility of industrial or demanding applications,HPC-BYT is also given with ruggedize features to secure a continuous and smooth operation.

Rugged dDesigns and Features to Meet Various Applications

HPC-BYT is powered by Intel® Atom™ E3845 4-Core 1.91GHz processor, furthermore, thanks for the Type 6 COMe architecture, users are able to change the system core to meet their demands. This machine supports total 6 COM ports (4 isolated) and 3 USB for external connection; 2 mini PCIe and 1 HPC 80-pin IET interface for dedicate device expansion; CF card slot and 2.5 HDD for system storage. This fanless operation system is given with rugged features, such as whole metal chassis, wide temperature (-40°C ~ 70°C (-40°F ~ 158°F)), wide voltage input (DC +12V ~ +48V) and also shock and vibration proof.

Bay Trail Platform: Beyond what Your Imagined about Atom Series

Bay Trail Series combines Silvermount architecture CPU with a GPU (which is similar to HD 4000 graphics engine), in addition, this series is given with dedicated I/O blocks and media encoding and decoding functions to make Bay Trail a system-on-chip (SoC) processor. For the power management, Bay Trail platform adopts 22 nm manufacturing process and several technologies to save more energy. Turbo Boost technology is to optimize the balance between the system performance and power consumption and make the required energy lower than before when system is in idle state. The other technology is DPST 6.0 (Display Power Saving Technology) which is able to save power by applying a clever combination of image processing and backlight adjustment.

Go to the Future, Catch the Train of IoT Development

In the new era of the Internet of Things (IoT), it’s very important to bring the various devices and people into one network so that the information sharing and mutual communication is possible. The problem is how to bridge all these devices and make the data flow through the network and reach a central server for processing. The answer is IoT gateway system. Nowadays, the concept of IoT is widely accepted in many fields including manufacturing, production, energy grids, transportation, intelligent buildings, construction monitoring and so on. It’s easily to understand a stable, durable and strong system is required to bridge all the devices or equipment involved in these demanding applications. Avalue Technology develops HPC-BYT to be an IoT gateway solution; with the outstanding functions and hardware designs, this machine guarantees a stable 24/7 operation, low maintenance and easy integration with other equipment.
