Cambrios Powering Past Competitors In High-Volume Touchscreen Production

Jan. 4, 2016 – Las Vegas, NV (Consumer Electronics Show – CES 2016) – Cambrios Technologies, the Sunnyvale, CA-based leader in silver nanowire technology, and their customer, LG Electronics Chemical & Electronic Material division (LGE CEM), today announced continued growth in high volume production and product shipments to major OEM customers.  Some of the key OEM customers include Acer, Cisco, HP, Lenovo, LG, MSI, and Toshiba.

New products, incorporating Cambrios/LGE CEM touch displays, being delivered in mass production, include:

  • Lenovo AIO’s;
  • HP’s line up of all-in-one (AIO) desktop PCs;
  • Toshiba’s Satellite laptops;
  • MSI AIO’s and monitors;
  • Acer AIO’s and monitors;

“We expect our market share will double this coming year as virtually every major OEM adopts silver nanowire-based touch displays in their AIO and monitors and extends our technology to laptops,” said John LeMoncheck, president and CEO of Cambrios. ”Our partner LGE CEM continues to lead the market with silver nanowire touch products.”

“Our best-in-class touch panels offer a full suite of solutions including coated/patterned sensor films and complete touch sensor modules,” added DoHyeon Kim, vice president and the head of LGE CEM Business Division. “The market has been rapidly adopting silver nanowire-based touchscreens. We will see even more high-volume applications this coming year.”

The two companies are collaborating on next-generation silver nanowire-based touch sensors offering improved performance and product design options using the newest silver nanowire inks from Cambrios.

About Silver Nanowire Technology

Silver nanowire conductors are lighter, thinner, flexible and more cost effective than traditional glass-based Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) sensors.

Cambrios is also shipping its silver nanowire-based touchscreens to high-volume producers of smartphones, tablets and other products made by a range of tier-one CE OEMs.

Cambrios will be showcasing its ClearOhm® coating material, including touch panels and end products using LG’s touch sensors, at CES 2016 (Jan. 6-9) in its exclusive suite (#19-121) at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.

About Cambrios Technology

Cambrios leads the industry in providing innovative solutions using nanotechnology. Its breakthrough silver nanowire-based transparent conductor material simplifies and cost-reduces electronics manufacturing and improves end-product performance for electronic devices. The company’s ClearOhm product is a transparent conductor with significantly higher optical and electrical performance than traditional materials and methods. Applications of ClearOhm include touch screens, EMI shielding, LCDs, ePaper, OLED lighting and thin film photovoltaics.
