Greenliant Systems Selects PLDA’s Solution for its Next-Generation PCIe SSD Controller

SAN JOSE, CA – June 17, 2015 – PLDA, the industry leader in PCI Express® (PCIe) controller intellectual property (IP) solutions, today announced that Greenliant Systems has selected PLDA’s IP for its next-generation PCIe SSD controller. Greenliant, a leader in energy-efficient, highly secure and reliable solid state storage, controller and flash memory products, joins a growing number of companies using PLDA solutions.

Responding to the growing trend of PCIe use in storage applications, PLDA delivers high-quality, silicon-proven PCIe IP optimized for the solid state drive (SSD) market. The maturity of PLDA’s PCIe controller solution and the company’s reputation for top-notch customer support are among the key deciding factors for storage companies.

“Greenliant Systems has been working with PLDA on several projects for more than three years. PLDA has provided excellent technical support during integration and system verification for our advanced, customized configuration. We have been able to lower our project risks and time to market, thanks to the maturity of PLDA’s PCIe IP code,” said Arthur Hsu, vice president, engineering, Greenliant Systems.

Storage-related features in PLDA’s PCIe Soft IP include:

  • An option to reduce the memory/size area particularly benefiting to designs based on a cluster of EndPoints.
  • Mechanisms to dynamically change operating frequency and optimize performances versus low power.
  • An inbuilt option to automatically insert pipelining, especially useful when targeting slower (low power) processes.
  • Support for features widely used in PCIe SSDs, such as L1 substate and SRIS.

“We work hard to provide leading-edge PCIe solutions for the storage market. Today, we are proud to be part of the success of Greenliant Systems, a major supplier of solid state storage. We are already developing and getting technical successes on the upcoming 4th generation of PCIe that will be the next step for the storage market,” said Stephane Hauradou, co-founder of PLDA.
