e2v inc releases enhanced microprocessor and memory devices offering extended temperature range and performance

2v inc has announced the availability of enhanced product (EP) versions of its high-reliability PC8548-EP microprocessor and the EV25Q128-EP 128Mb NOR Flash memory, offering an extended temperature range from -55°C to +125°C, as well as the ability to perform to electrical specifications in environments that require extended temperatures.

The PC8548-EP is an integrated microprocessor based on a Power Architecture e500 core delivering more than 3000 MIPS at 1333 MHz. Offering a wide range of high-speed connectivity options, including Gigabit Ethernet (GbE), PCI Express® and Serial RapidIO® it’s an ideal general purpose processor for high-reliability applications, however, with its advanced security functions, including encryption, it’s also highly suited for secured applications in Aerospace and Defense. It is provided in a SnPb BGA package and is specified over the full military temperature range (-55°C to +125°C).

The EV25Q128-EP is a NOR Flash memory that features a high-speed, SPI-compatible, serial bus interface. Operating up to 108 MHz (maximum) clock frequency, it also features execute-in-place (XIP) functionality, supports the new Quad I/O or Dual I/O SPI protocol, has a 64-byte, user-lockable, one-time programmable (OTP) area, and supports operation from a 2.7 V to 3.6 V single-supply voltage. It is supplied in a SO-16 package and operates over the automotive temperature range (-40°C to +125°C).

Richard Gibbs, President of Semiconductors at e2v commented, “e2v catalog EP products are available in industry-standard plastic packages and offer several advantages over standard COTS products including qualification pedigree and a wider range of high speed connectivity and temperature capabilities. They are an ideal choice for customers looking for a general microprocessor for specialised or high-reliability applications.”

Both e2v EP products are available now.
